Dear fellow ACOG and FOGS members, officers, and staff:

We are conducting a state-wide survey on practice patterns relating to professional liability insurance coverage and the discontinuation of obstetrical services. Preliminary results from a pilot study in Palm Beach County were presented recently. The results of this survey may be of value to certain legislative and political objectives. The face value of the study will also be of importance to FOGS and AGOG.

I have already surveyed 120 obgyns in Palm Beach County. Several of you have kindly accepted a role in canvassing other key counties near you. We are in of need additional staff to help with making phone calls to Ob/Gyns in the state in order to complete the study.

I will provide instructions, specific inquiry protocol, Excel spreadsheet template, and will even help you to secure the call lists.

Please contact me ASAP if you are willing to assist, or if you have suggestions for personnel who might help. It is important that we get moving within the next couple of weeks, so please think about this and get in touch.

As a practicing Ob/Gyn, you will be contacted by mail, e-mail and a personal phone call when possible to take this survey. Our study will only be validated through maximum participation. So answer the call and take part in your association.

Thanks and best regards from West Palm Beach!

Jay Trabin, MD
