The Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society (FOGS) is pleased to announce the election of Robert Ware Yelverton, MD, as President of the Society. Dr. Yelverton, an Obstetrician Gynecologist from Tampa, Florida, has practiced medicine in Florida for the last 30 years. He currently serves as CEO/Medical Director of Tampa Bay Women's Care in Tampa.

Dr. Yelverton is a graduate from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. He is a Fellow and Regional Chairman of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has served numerous committees of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chaired the Primary Care Committee of ACOG in 2000. He has served in the past as President of the South Central Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the Hillsborough County Medical Association.

Among other honors, Dr. Yelverton has received the Humanitarian Award for Commitment to the Improvement of Health Care to Indigent Women of Tampa in 1986, and the Health & Education Award from United Way in 2001.

The Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society's mission is to be the best obstetrical and gynecological care of Florida's women through fellowship, education and cooperation of Florida's doctors of medicine who practice obstetrics and gynecology.
