Resident Research at Annual FOGS Meeting
Congratulations to all residents selected to present their original research at the annual Florida OB/GYN Society/FL Section ACOG Annual Meeting on July 22nd. Ten residents representing five of the seven residencies in Florida presented power point presentations of their research projects. New ACOG Florida Section Junior Fellow Vice Chair Elected
Congratulations to Loren Smarkusky, MD of the University of Miami (PGY-3) on her recent election to the position of Florida Junior Fellow Vice Chair. She and the current Florida Junior Fellow Chair, Cole Greves, MD will represent the junior fellows of Florida at District meetings and events.
ACOG District IV Meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico
Make plans to attend the 2005 District IV meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico, October 28 - 30. This meeting will be held in conjunction with Districts III and IX. Junior fellow activities at the meeting include:
- Junior Fellow Paper Presentations
- Junior Fellow Business Meeting with a presentation by Dr. Norman Gant, President of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
- Donald F. Richardson Memorial Lecture/Outstanding Faculty Award
ACOG Essay Contest: How My OB/GYN Mentor Influenced Me
Junior fellows are invited to submit an essay describing how their OB/GYN mentor influenced them. Essays should be 500 to 750 words in length and are due November 15, 2005. Each district selects a winner to receive a $500 award. A national winning essay will be selected from the District winners and will receive an additional $500 and an all expense paid trip to attend the Annual Clinical Meeting in Washington, DC. Stump the Professors
Each year, four junior fellows are invited to present interesting cases to a panel of expert physicians at the Annual Clinical Meeting. The four junior fellows selected to present are awarded an all expense paid trip to the Annual Clinical Meeting in Washington, DC. Start collecting interesting cases for submission. Entries are due in early December. Visit the ACOG website for details on submitting cases.
