Annual Clinical Meeting in San Francisco
Make plans to attend the ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting in San Francisco, May 15-19, 2010. Many junior fellow and medical student educational and social events are scheduled during this wonderful meeting. A junior fellow course entitled, "Preparing for Life After Residency: Transitioning from Training to Practice and the ABCs of Applying for a Subspecialty Fellowship" will occur on Monday, May 17. Medical student workshops will be held on Sunday and Monday at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel. Medical students will learn about preparing their CV, applying to an obstetrics and gynecology residency and the dimensions of the practice of obstetrics and gynecology.
The welcome reception on Sunday night, May 16, is free with paid registration. Additionally, a medical student reception follows the student course on Ob/Gyn as a career on Monday, May 17 from 5:30-7 pm. Don't miss the annual 5K fun run/walk on Sunday morning, May 16. This year's event will take place at the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a $10 donation fee and all proceeds go to a local charity.
The junior fellow breakfast will be held on Tuesday, May 18 at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel. This breakfast is an opportunity to meet other junior fellows in your district and learn more about junior fellow ACOG activities at the national level. Stump the Professors is a stimulating event each year and follows the breakfast on May 18 in the San Francisco Convention Center. Four junior fellows will present interesting cases to a panel of experts in the field of Ob/Gyn in an attempt to "stump" the panel. Tuesday concludes with the President Dinner and Dance.
The exhibit hall will be open on Monday, May 17 through Wednesday, May 19. Visit the vendor booths to learn the latest in the pharmaceutical industry.
San Francisco is an exciting city with numerous sightseeing and dining options. Join your colleagues for a stimulating and educational time in this fabulous city. Additional information will be available in the coming weeks on the ACOG website, www.acog.org, under "meetings."
